​The mission of Supportive Spaces For All is to provide All-Inclusive Programming. All-Inclusive Programming means that people with different learning and communication styles can fully participate in recreational programming with support and accommodations. It is an opportunity for people to work on social skills and behavioral regulation in a safe space with no judgement. Supportive Spaces For All equips businesses and organizations with the tools necessary to provide All-Inclusive Programming and make a true impact in their own communities.
The Reality....
Participation in organized extracurricular social activities can offer many positive benefits. However, parents of autistic children report less participation compared to their neurotypical peers. It is important for professionals and community leaders to collaborate and create inclusive environments which are supportive and welcoming. This can be achieved through trainings that address barriers (Farrell et. al, 2023).
